About me

My name is Rose Fonth, and I am a PhD Candidate in Philosophy at Rutgers University. My primary research interests are in Social Philosophy, Ethics, and Feminist Philosophy. My secondary research interests are in Metaphysics, Philosophy of Language, and Philosophy of Race. My dissertation, The Policing of Selfhood: Names, Sounds, and Identity, argues that, the names we use, the sounds we make, and the intimate identities we share are often sites of social injustice.

Prior to coming to Rutgers, I received my MA (2020) and BA (2018) in Philosophy at California State University, Los Angeles.

Besides philosophy, I also enjoy playing guitar (intermediately), golfing (amateurishly), listening to true crime podcasts (obsessively), and speculating about what the next Apple event is going to feature.
